"I became the CEO of my own life."

For years, I worked at the highest levels of business, right alongside CEOs, board members, and leadership teams. I was more than just an Executive Assistant—I was a strategic partner. I had a seat at the table, even if my title didn’t always reflect it.

One of the most defining chapters of my career was helping my CEO and the company rebuild its leadership team, restructure operations, and strengthen its financial position. Over four years, we prepared for and successfully went public. It was rewarding, intense work, and I was deeply invested in the outcome.

Then, my CEO retired. A new CEO stepped in, and while I continued to support the organization, things had changed. The dynamic was different. The value placed on my role had shifted. I no longer felt the same level of fulfillment or impact. And then COVID happened, shaking the world—and my own sense of professional certainty.

That was the moment I asked myself: If not now, when?

I had spent decades building, advising, and supporting businesses and executives. But what if I took that knowledge and built something for myself? What if I stopped waiting for someone else to recognize my worth—and instead stepped fully into my own leadership?

I made the leap. No safety net. No guarantees. Just belief in my expertise and the understanding that I had more to offer than any single employer could ever fully utilize.

It wasn’t easy. There were doubts. Fear. Moments of uncertainty. At one point, my husband and I had a conversation about whether we might have to sell our house if things didn’t work out. But I kept going. I started having conversations. I started talking about my expertise, my vision, my value.

And then, it happened.

I signed my first client. Then another. Within months, I had replaced my corporate salary. Within a year, I had doubled my income. Within 15 months, I had built a multiple six-figure business and had to hire other EAs to support the growing demand.

I became the CEO of my own life.

Now, I see so many EAs in the same place I was: incredibly skilled, deeply experienced, and ready for more—but unsure of how to take the leap.

Here’s what I know for sure: You are not "just" an EA.

You are a strategic thinker. A business operator. A trusted advisor. A leader.

And if you are feeling that pull—the one that says there is something more for me—I want you to know that it’s not just possible. It is yours for the taking.

What would your life look like if you took control of your career and growth? What if, instead of helping someone else build their business, you built your own?

Because if not now, when?
