“They just don’t get me…” – the silent struggle

“I just want someone who gets me.”
Every leader I’ve worked with has said this at some point.
But here’s what I gently ask them in return:
Have you shown them how you think?
Have you taught them what matters to you?
Have you revealed your non-negotiables?
Support staff aren’t mind readers. They’re not supposed to be. But the right person can absolutely act like one — when given access to your inner world.
The deepest partnerships I’ve helped build didn’t start with better systems.
They started with real transparency.
→ Naming the priorities.
→ Owning the fears.
→ Stating what you don’t want to manage anymore.
It’s not about giving up control — it’s about co-creating clarity.
If you want your support person to act like a strategic partner, they need to understand the strategy — not just the tasks.
And if you’re not sure how to build that kind of relationship, that’s the work I do.
🌀 I help women leaders rewire how they communicate, delegate, and lead — so they feel deeply supported in the business and the body.
The result? You finally stop the silent struggle saying, “they don’t get me” — because someone finally does.
